Description

Bordered sampler, coarse linen, embroidered with polychrome woollen threads in cross-stitch. A waved stem and ;leaf border frames the main body of the sampler. Within it at the top there are six horizontal bands with alphabets, numerals and the initials 'PB, RR AR, BR WB, JB, ME, PB', and border designs. Below these bands sits a large red house with a gated fence and flanked on both sides by a flowering plant, a bird and a tree.
