Sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in tent, cross, satin and straight stitch. All the edges are turned under and hem stitched. An upper horizontal band contains an alphabet and the inscription 'ANNO 1823 FERDIG D 23 DECER'. There is a lower horizontal floral band. A central wreath contains a group of initials and some detached motifs which include the Temptation of Adam and Eve, the crucifixion, the Spies from Canaan and an Agnus Dei.
