Band sampler, linen embroidered with polychrome silks with an alphabet, flowers and other motifs including the Lamb of God, Instruments of the Passion, coat of arms, peacock and a large flower vase.
Linen band sampler embroidered with polychrome silks in cross, back, and satin stitch. The edges are finished with buttonhole stitch.The pattern is arranged in seven horizontal bands. The first contains stylized flowers, the second an alphabet in blue and pink silks, the third contains two highly stylized flower arrangements and a wreath with the initials 'IHS' inside it and a small dog and lion beneath it. The third band depicts the Agnus Dei, symbols of passion (including the cross and carpenters tools), the double headed royal Eagle and the date 1674, the initial 'WE' are placed on either side of the wreath. The fourth band depicts a peacock, a coat of arm in a wreath and a parrot on a leafy branch. The bottom band depicts a large vase of flowers surrounded by large individual flowers.
