Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. The upper section includes about 28 detached motifs including a crowned woman, arms raised with a spray of leaves in her hand, birds, a cock, a dog, flowers, fruit an hourglass and a spinster. Below this section, 12 horizontal bands are work comprising numerals, alphabets, the date '1777', repeat border patterns and the initials 'RDS, ACS, AZ, ICZ'.
