Border sampler, wool, embroidered with polychrome silks in cross-stitch. A flower and bud border frames the main body of the sampler, which is mostly taken up by an inscription. This reads 'Jesus my blood and righteousness/ My beauty are my glorious dress/Midst flaming worlds in these arrayd/ With joy shall I lift up my head/ When from the dust of earth I rise/ To claim my mansion in the skies/ even then shall this be all my plea/ Jesus that lived and died for me/ And now my soul another year/ of thy short life is past/I cannot long continue here/ And this may be my last/ Another six days work is done/ another Sabbath is begun/ return my soul enjoy thy rest/ improve the day thy God has Blessd'. Below this sits a symmetrical arrangement of motifs centred around a crown, a vase of flowers and a fruit basket. To the left and right birds, crowns, a flowering plant, hearts and stags are worked.
