Description

Pictorial sampler, wool, embroidered with polychrome silks in satin, cross and stem stitch. There is a selvedge at the top and bottom and the sides are turned under and stitched. A naturalistic floral border encloses a representation of the Trades Hall, Aberdeen; above sit detached floral motifs and the verse' O may I stand before the Lamb/When earth and seas are fled/ And hear the Judge pronounce my name/ With blessings on my head.' Below initials and the inscription 'Mary Cameron Aberdeen' are placed between two lions.
