Description

Band sampler, linen, embroidered with polychrome silks and wools in cross and eyelet hole stitch. The sampler comprises ten horizontal bands which include an alphabet with duplicate lettering, numerals 1-10, the name and date 'Sarah Denton 1763', and the inscription 'Take pity for thy promise/sake have mercy lord on/me becavse my sovl doth/her betake vnto the help/or thee 1234567890 sarah/denton aged 12. anno ammo/1763'.
