Black basalt, hand-thrown, turned, and printed in gold. Cylindrical with two lathe-turned horizontal depressions in the side, and a flat circular cover (A) with a truncated conical knob with a depression in the top. The sides are decorated with 'The Tower of London' twice over a row of seven canon.

The shape was designed for the 'Design 63' group. The 'Tower of London' herb jar won an award from the Council of Industrial Design and the British Travel Association in 1966, in a competition to encourage designs for the tourist industry
