Folding fan of double paper, printed, painted and gilded. On one side is a lady and child with racquets (for shuttlecock?), on the other side are two people on an island.
Sticks of bone, pierced and painted. Guards of bone, pierced with cut steels and mother-of-pearl strengthening by the rivet.
History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
