Double silk leaf painted and embroidered with gold and silver sequins and gold thread, applied printed-paper. Sticks of cut and painted ivory inlaid with clear pastes of pierced steel; guards of pierced steel backed with puce foil (17+2) rivet of brass; washer of mother-of-pearl. Front: the central medallion is printed with a scene showing Cupid broaching a wine barrel with Bacchus. It is bordered by a broad blue line inside two rows of gold sequins and flanked by a square blue and silver bordered panels with love trophies and two oval medallions with trees. Scrolling sequin and thread ornaments and gold flowers decorate the white leaf, which is bordered by a chain of leaves and ovals between lilac and a green line. The top edging is painted in gold. Back: undecorated. Sticks: alternating sticks of pierced steel and ivory, with two ivory sticks in the middle. The ivory sticks have slightly scrolling ornaments bordered by clear pastes, four medallions and figures imitating Wedgwood Jasperware. The steel sticks have a hole pattern. Guards: both guards are decorated in the same way: profiled steel decorated with holes.
