Folding fan of double paper, printed with a figure scene, and elaborately gilded. Sticks and guards of pierced bone, the guards set with a mirror. Gilt metal loop.
Leaf probably printed in France or England, and ornamented in Spain. Sticks and guards are probably from the Philippines.
History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
