The "Infant Moses" fan

Single vellum leaf, painted in bodycolour, showing "The Infant Moses treading on the Crown of Pharaoh"; the reverse is black with light gilding. The sticks and guards are of ivory, pierced and carved and strengthened at the head with mother-of-pearl.
History note: Colonel Leonard C. Messel (1872-1953); his daughter Anne, Countess of Rosse (1902-1992)
