Double silk leaf, the front features three vignettes; the central scene is painted in bodycolour with a fete galante; the two scenes flanking this are printed and applied; each scene is then decorated with gilt sequins and the background is painted. The reverse is lightly painted with flowers, an urn and decorative scrolls, garlands and borders. The sticks and guards are of pierced and fretted ivory and gilt in three tones.
