Double paper leaf 'Applied faces' fan with sticks and guards of engraved mother-of-pearl. Double paper leaf: the front shows a crowd of people in the scene, with clothes of woven silk applied to the paper background and faces of painted, applied ivory. Reverse: all of the people are male only.
Sticks and guards of engraved mother-of-pearl (14+2); loop and double, silk (?) tassel. Made for the European market.
