Applied Faces screen fan. Decorated, obverse: with fan and gift-bearing figures in a courtyard garden; reverse: with six Chinese ladies seated in front of a bookcase with vases containing flowering lotus, a coral branch, scrolls and a peacock feather; stick: with figures and foliage patterns. Stick and rim, reverse: wood and cane, painted in gold on black lacquer. String and tassels: green and crimson silk with milk-glass beads. Rim: obverse: brocade covered. Face: coarse silk, painted in opaque watercolours with applied painted ivory, silk and paper.
