Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, moulded with acanthus leaves and painted overglaze in polychrome enamels with flowers and insects.
Soft-paste porcelain teapot and cover, moulded, and painted overglaze in red, yellow, green, blue, turquoise, puce, and black enamels. The globular body is moulded with overlapping acanthus leaves, and stands on six rudimentary feet. The loop handle is applied with three studded bands, and the slightly domed cover is surmounted by an applied oak leaf and acorn knop. Both pieces are painted in with garden flowers among scattered butterflies and insects.

Acanthus, also known as 'strawberry leaf' tea and coffee wares are found with the incised triangle and the underglaze-blue crown and trident marks. They appear with coloured European flowers, as here, and with Japanese Kakiemon-style decoration.
