DECORATION: Nine historiated initials in graded pink, red or grey on gold grounds with red foliate ornament occasionally bounded by geometric patterns: fol. 16r Hours of the Virgin, [O, 4 ll.] Bust of the Virgin, with two panels containing floral, classicizing and geometric motifs on gold grounds, and creating a title-page effect by enclosing the text OFFICIVM BEATAE MARIAE VIRGINIS; fol. 17r Hours of the Virgin, Matins, [D, 8 ll.] Bust of Christ blessing and holding an orb; fol. 58r Sext, [D, 5 ll.] Bust of the Virgin, Oranta type; fol. 66r Vespers, [D, 5 ll.] Bust of God the Father blessing and holding orb; fol. 76r Compline, [C, 5 ll.] Angel adoring and borne by clouds; fol. 107r Penitential Psalms, [D, 6 ll.] Bust of the Virgin praying; fol. 141r Office of the Dead, [D, 6 ll.] Winged hour-glass on a skull with crossed bones; fol. 204v Short Hours of the Cross, [D, 5 ll.] Cross with Christ’s loin-cloth or shroud draped over its arms and scroll inscribed INRI; fol. 209v Hours of the Holy Spirit, [D, 4 ll.] Dove of the Holy Spirit.

ORNAMENTATION: Red, grey or blue initials [2 ll.] on gold grounds with red foliate ornament; red one-line initials.
