DECORATION
Canon Tables in dull-red ink with round arched framework supported by Corinthian columns with capitals and bases, some containing dot or scroll motifs (fols. 8r-15v).
ORNAMENTATION
Dull-red initials [6-8 ll.], some with reserved linear ornament in stems, with simple red penwork geometric motifs as infill around edge of initial bowls and beside initial stems, at main text divisions (e.g. fols. 2v, 4r, 16v, 48r); one-line red initials in left margins; capitals highlighted in red on fol. 75r and in green on fols. 105r-111v.
History note: The Cistercian monastery of Cambron ('Liber sancte Marie de Camberone' on fol. iir, a later hand has written 'de Camberone' on the lower margin of at least one leaf in every quire); In possession of Samuel Sandars by 1886, he presented it to the museum in 1892.
