Description

Gold set with glass intaglios imitating cornelian (a), onyx (b), green jasper (c), sard (d), cornelian (e), lapis (f), red jasper (g), chalcedony (h) and banded agate (i), linked by paired gold knots and links. The subjects respectively: Heracles, Mars, Cupid as an athlete, Cupid carrying bow, whippet sniffing a butterfly, faun kneeling making crown of ivy leaves, Mercury holding Caduceus, carrying infant Bacchus, Cupid seated holding lyre, Ajax, armed, drags Cassandra from the statuette of the Palladion.
