Silversmith: Rodrigues, João (Possibly)
Silver-gilt; embossed and chased with spiral fluting and rocaille decoration.
Silver-gilt: with embossed and chased ornament and engraved crest. Circular with shaped edge. In the centre, a raised oval cartouche is engraved with the Ormonde crest beneath the coronet of a Marquis, surrounded by embossed and chased rocaille and floral ornament. Spiral fluting radiates from the cartouche to the rim which is embossed and chased with a border of rocaille, scrolls and floral ornament on a matted ground. (with M.10-1982 and M.10A-1982)
History note: Walter Butler, 18th Earl of Ormonde, created 1st Marquis of Ormonde, 1816, and by descent in the Ormonde family.
