Description

Russia binding, with binder's ticket of C. Kalthoeber. Contains set of prints after drawings by Carracci, Cigoli, Domenichino, Salviati, Arpinas, Michelangelo and antique sculptures. Sheets sewn directly into binding, rather than pasted onto sheets.

History note: William Gott, bookplate. From the collection of Sir Joshua Reynolds (1723-1792) [Lugt 2364]; Fonthill (William Thomas Beckford) sale 1823. Purchased 26 January 1926 from Lambert.
