Engravings by Herman van Swanevelt Lord Fitzwilliam's print album

Method of acquisition: Bequeathed (1816) by Fitzwilliam, Richard, 7th Viscount
Album bound for first time in 1807: it is evident from the titlepage that Fitzwilliam rebound the prints at some later stage (the quality of the paper is the same as in albums bound around 1813 or later). Handwritten inscription on titlepage: 'arranged according to Bartsch's catalogue'. Contains 208 prints. Prints -195 to -208 are divided from the majority of the other prints in the album, with an explanatory note by Lord Fitzwilliam which reads "The engravings which follow are not in the catalogue of / The works of Swanveldt."
