The Dreamer
Sculptor: Epstein, Jacob
Nude female figure reclining on a shallow bronze base, supported by the left arm, which is rigid. Her long hair hangs down over her left shoulder and her head is turned almost in profile to the left, the eyes closed. Her long legs are slightly drawn up and crossed, but still extend beyond the edge of the base.
History note: Bought from the Twenty-One Gallery, 21, York Buildings, Adelphi, London, WC, in July 1914 by the donors.
