Seated Female Nude Torso
Sculptor: Goscombe John, Sir William
Bronze, cast, with bronze patina. Seated on a rudely moulded plinth; the upper part of the nude torso is slightly turned to the left. Smooth surface modelling in the front and a rough surface treatment at the back of the figure. Signed across the back of the plinth.
History note: Given by the sculptor to Sir Edmund Gosse (1849-1928); gift of Dr Philip Gosse, the son of Sir Edmund
