Othryades of Sparta sitting on the ground in profile to the right: he is nude apart from the mantle around his loins. Between his partially extended legs is a large circular shield which he supports with his left hand while he inscribes the word VICI in his own blood with his right hand. in front of him is a cuirass, a greave and a plumed Corinthian helmet for the trophy he is setting up, while below the ground line is a sword.
