Description

An Isiac priestess or Isis herself standing half right, wearing a himation wrapped around her body and secured at the chest with a knot. In her left hand the woman holds out a sistrum and in her right hand a situla (the pail of Isis in which Nile water was carried) her head is crowned with a small polos, like the modius often worn by Serapis, and at her feet stands a small, cylindrical altar, or perhaps the cista mystica, upon which are a solar disc and uraei. ground line. The reverse is blank.
