Description

One of a pair of large pewter tankards. Plain body with a flat lid. Vertical thumbpiece cast as Prince of Wales' feathers on coronet, hinged to single scroll handle, with shield finial. Style of 17th century
Marks on the handle for Robert Marten

Determind a fake by the Pewterer's Society, 1953. Made using new metal, and with a fake mark.
