Second state. With Raimondi's monogram and the date. Some scholars have questioned the attribution of this second state to Raimondi because such extensive reworking was not typical in his early work. An obscured monogram of unknown meaning has been added to a tassel of Mars' cuirass, which reads "FESZ"
