Red lacquered metal, with miniature of posy of flowers on a grey ground, lined with tortoise-shell
Red lacquered metal, lined with tortoise-shell, set with a miniature in bodycolour on card, mounted under glass. The circular box has straight sides and a flat pull-off lid. The sides and base are guilloché enamelled in scarlet, and are mounted at the top, base and rims with reeded gilt metal borders. The circular miniature depicts a posy of flowers including roses, tulips, delphiniums and auriculas, on a grey ground.
