Description

Gold and silver, and gold and coloured micro-mosaic.

Gold and silver, and gold and blue, green, pink, red, white and shades of brown micro-mosaic. Of slightly convex oval form with a pin fastening across the back. In the middle is a bust of Bacchus in profile to left, wearing a vine wreath on his head, worked in coloured mosaic reserved in a gold ground. On the gold rim there are four applied gold beads separating a repeating motif of a circular cabochon flanked by kite-shaped motifs: on the right and left, a green cabochon blanked by red and white kite-shapes, and at the top and bottom, a red cabochon flanked by blue and white kite-shapes.
