Description

Soft-paste porcelain jug, transfer-printed underglaze in blue.

Soft-paste porcelain jug, moulded and transfer-printed underglaze in blue. The globular jug is moulded with overlapping cabbage leaves, below a cylindrical neck with a moulded stiff leaf border. The scrolled handle is also leaf-moulded, and the sparrow beak spout is moulded with a bearded mask. The jug stands on a flattened foot-ring. The body is printed three times with the 'Fisherman' or 'Pleasureboat' pattern, the neck with two parts of the same pattern. The interior rim has a cell diaper and trefoil border.
