Description

Oven-to-table stoneware, moulded, and decorated with 'old gold' and dark brown runny glazes. Romany pattern. The jug is cylindrical with slightly bulging sides, and projecting concave spout, and has a rounded strap handle with a depressions at its upper and lower ends where pressed to the body.

Note

The shape was designed by Glyn Pemberton. The glaze effect on 'Romany' was 'invented' by accident when the wrong proportions of coloured glazes were applied to a trial piece by the glaze development workshop.
