Description

Silver; the large, deep oval bowl has a gadroon edged border; it stands on three cast and chased scroll legs with ornate shell capitals and scroll feet and has a chased leaf-capped triple scroll handle. The sides are chased and engraved with scrolls, leaves, flowers, matted diaperwork, scalework and a vacant cartouche on one side, all of which is later and thought to date from c. 1870.
