Soft-paste porcelain vase, decorated in Chinese style in polychrome enamels.
Soft-paste porcelain, thrown, and painted in blue, bluish-green, yellow, purple and black enamels. Bulbous body with a narrow neck, flaring towards the mouth, standing on a footring. Decorated on the body with branching sprays of Oriental-style flowers, and round the rim with a purple line.
History note: Sotheby's, uncertain sale date, purchased by the vendor for £3.10; purchased from Stanley Wollston, Cambridge on 6 September 1922 for £4 by Dr J.W.L. Glaisher.
