Boyce (since April 1854) now of 33 Glebe Place, Chelsea, who at this date August 17 1885 presents it to his good friend, Phillip Webb, whose property it now is. G.P. Boyce '85

Cockerell assured that, when he had to dispose of it, the picture would finally be placed by him in a 'National' English Gallery of Paintings. (below this in the hand of S.C. Cockerell, is written:) Given to the Fitzwilliam Museum by Sydney Cockerell above named.
