Note

The bust resembles a terracotta bust with a plaster socle in the National Portrait Gallery (no. 878), possibly after Louis-François Roubiliac (1702-62), and perhaps related to an edition of 30 casts advertised in 1758 by Fenwick Bull, a print and mapseller of Ludgate Hill, London. However, it is possible that these might have resembled a plaster bust showing the sitter without a cap in a private collection.
