Description

Bronze, cast. Nude female torso, hips tilted, right leg forwards. Torso is truncated at the neck, the upper arms, above the right knee, and below the left knee. Cast in one piece with a square base.

Note

Legros came to London in 1863, and became a naturalised British citizen in 1881. A plaster model for this torso dated 1890 is in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
