Soft-paste porcelain fob seal, painted in polychrome enamels.
Soft-paste porcelain fob seal, painted in blue, green, pale yellow, red, a little puce, brown and black enamels. A musician wearing a mask and playing a mandoline sits on a green rock on an oval base inscribed in red capitals 'JE VAY AU COEUR'. The base is set in a gilt-metal band containing a red glass/carnelian seal cut in intaglio with a winged heart surrounded by 'LE VOLE A VERTU' (or 'JE VOLE A VERTU'). A gilt-metal suspension loop decorated with a flower, is attached to the rock by means of a pin inserted into the porcelain.
