Acrobat performing a Handstand
Production: Prieur, Barthélemy
Copper alloy, probably bronze, cast. Nude male figure performing a hand stand. His right leg is bent slightly at the knee so that the foot projects over his head. His left leg is more bent than the right.
History note: Foule Collection, Paris (presumably still there in 1930 when referred to by Bode). Acquired by Copper & Adams, Finchley; sold by C.G. Cooper (for £465) to Lt Col. the Hon. M.T. Boscawen, DSO, MC (1892-1958), 1945; Given anonymously, from the collection of the late Lt. Col. the Hon. M.T. Boscawen, D.S.O., M.C., in his memory. Formerly on loan.
