Description

Bronze with black patina; slightly polished. The figure stands with the weight of the body resting on the right leg and the left leg bent forwards. The bearded head looks down to the left, his right arm raised in front of his chest and pointing to the right. His left arm and shoulder are bare and his left hand holds a book. The mantle, worn over a coat of skins, swirls over his left leg above the knee, leaving bare the lower part of both legs, and falls to the ground at the back. It stands on a shallow square bronze base, mounted on a marble plinth.
