Maker: Unknown
A fine powdery white earthenware male soldier, mould made. The figure is standing to attention on a small rectangular base. He wears a skull tight helmet, and a small cape which covers the belted tunic, which is overlaid with iron plate armor. Underneath this, the soldier is wearing a padded, quilted garment.
The figure has traces of white slip and red, green and black paint. Under ultra violet light, traces of saffron coloured paint can also be found on the lower tunic, lappets, face and hands.
Since there is no hole through the fists, perhaps at one time the hands rested on a sword.
The head has been glued back on to the body
