Pair of tomb figures, possibly Lokapala. Mould made from grey earthenware, with traces of white slip and red paint. Ultra violet light reveals that the tunics are dark red, outlined in mustard yellow with mustard coloured lapels. The figure does not wear the typical guardian figure warrior costume preferred by Chinese potters, but rather the tight fitting tunic of Persian dress. They pair also wear baggy trousers nipped in below the knees
