Figure of a satyr from an inkstand. Bronze, cast hollow, with black patina, slightly polished, mounted on a green marble plinth. Seated with left hoof crossed over right leg, the satyr holds the socket in his left hand and a shell in his right hand. There is a hole in top of head and bottom of shell.

After a model ascribed to Andrea Brisoco, called Riccio. Described as probably made in Italy in the late 19th century in Avery 2002 (see Documentation); examined by Jeremy Warren in June 2012, who thought that the original model might be by Desiderio da Firenze and the cast likely to date from c. 1550 to early 1600s.
