Brass, cast, chased, and slightly polished. The nymph is seated on a tree stump her left hand resting on a branch behind her, and her right hand holding an apple.
Brass, cast, chased, and slightly polished. Nymph (Venus), seated on a tree stump chased with foliage, her left hand on a branch behind her and her right hand holding an apple, her left leg crossed over her right knee. The lower part of the body is partially draped. Smooth slightly polished brown patina. Mounted on a marble plinth, decorated with geometrical design in coloured marbles.
History note: Henry Harris Collection, London, by 1930 when lent by him to the Royal Academy's Exhibition of Italian Art 1200-1900; His Sale, Sotheby's, London, 24 October 1950, 'The Henry Harris Collection. Previously attributed to Antico (Pier Jacopo Alari Bonacolsi, born c. 1460 - worked in Mantua - died 1528).
