Description

Bronze, cast and chased. The head extends to a V-shaped point just below the muzzle and is open at the back. The neck and the area behind the muzzle are covered with curling wool. The muzzle is smooth. The eyes are open and the ears poked forward. The horns curl forward and are bound with cloth.

Note

Previously attributed to Andrea Briosco, called Il Riccio, and to Padua, but catalogued by Avery 2002, as uncertain, probably Italian. Previously there was a lead weight inside the muzzle, now removed.
