Description

Helmet made of steel, with koftgari decoration. In the form of a low slightly ovoid hemisphere and fluted, with a plume tube (loose) on a petalled dome at the apex, two plume tubes at the front attached by original screws, and a nasal with a lotus bud finial at either end in a staple attached by modern brass screws. The nasal is secured in the up position by a rectangular loop which engages a hook at the lower terminal. Around the base is an aventail of butted iron mail, forming a fringe round the front and three shallow V-shaped dags at the sides and rear. The lining is quilted, and covered in crimson velvet.
