Old Man representing Winter
Factory: Doccia Porcelain Factory
White glazed hard-paste porcelain
White hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded and glazed. The unglazed underside is concave and has a long, narrow, curved ventilation hole at the back. On the viewer's left of the back of the small square base there is a tree stump which supports a bowl-shaped brazier filled with flames. The old man stands on his left foot with his right slightly advanced and holds his hands in front of his chest with the right above the left. The crown of his head is bald, and he has a long beard. He wears a short tunic under his cloak which is wrapped around him and falls down to the ground at the back.
