Greyish-white hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, and glazed

Greyish-hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, and glazed. The underside is flat and unglazed and has a large round ventilation hole at the back. The figures are supported on a circular base with a mound in the centre, and a tree-trunk with open spaces between its roots at the back. On its top is a circular base of a missing feature. The couple are standing side by side with their inside arms linked, looking towards each other. The woman holds her apron out with her right hand and he has his left arm bent with the back of his hand to his thigh. The girl wears a hat decorated with ribbons perched on top of her head, a bodice with a basque, and a sash over her right shoulder and tied at the waist; a skirt, apron and buckled shoes. The man has a broad-brimmed hat turned up at the sides and decorated with a knot of ribbon and a long feather; a shirt, open jacket, a sash round the waist, ankle-length breeches, and buckle shoes.
