Glazed hard-paste porcelain; the partially glazed underside has a cross-shaped support over the space leading into the interior. The oval base has a tall rock with a tree growing from it at the back, and on the viewer's right, a waisted pedestal of quatrefoil plan supporting a standing bowl filled with flowers. Flora or Venus stands in front of the rock holding up a small spray of flowers in her right hand, and turning to her right towards a nude putto or Cupid who holds up his right hand towards her. She is nude apart from a drape which passes behind her back, over both arms, falls down to the ground on her right and over her left thigh. Something, possibly a larger tree tree is missing from the back of the rock.

The bowl of flowers suggests that this may be Flora rather than Venus. The figures may have been modelled by Pietro Varion, and were possibly derived from one of several prints after Boucher or one by Boucher.
