Description

Glazed hard-paste porcelain; the partially glazed underside has a cross-shaped support over the space leading into the interior. The oval base has a tall rock with a tree growing from it at the back, and on the viewer's right, a waisted pedestal of quatrefoil plan supporting a standing bowl filled with flowers. Flora or Venus stands in front of the rock holding up a small spray of flowers in her right hand, and turning to her right towards a nude putto or Cupid who holds up his right hand towards her. She is nude apart from a drape which passes behind her back, over both arms, falls down to the ground on her right and over her left thigh. Something, possibly a larger tree tree is missing from the back of the rock.
