Hard-paste porcelain, painted in green, pink, puce, and and gilt

Hard-paste porcelain, press-moulded, glazed including the base, and painted in blue, green, flesh-pink, pink, mauve, red, grey, and black enamels, and gilt. The figure is supported on a domed, scrolled and pierced base, picked out in gold, and has the remains of a gold inscription on the front 'Lan ). Cupid stands on his left leg with his right extended behind him, and leans forward, holding the clyster (enema) in both hands. Cupid has rosy cheeks, red lips and black eyes. He wears a long curling grey wig, and a nightcap with a gold edge; a long green coat with a blue, brown, and mauve floral pattern, and pink lining; and mauve breeches. The clyster is gold.
